SPECIAL NEEDS PAIR - All we want for the holidays is a new home!!
Once upon a time, as the story goes, two beautiful kittens were born that were Slightly Unusual. They were not as coordinated as their other littermates but they tried really hard to keep up. They excelled in classes of Purring and Being Lap Cats but didn’t do so well in Running Games and in the Neat Eating competition. As they grew up - - they are 8-months old - -they were still were a little uncoordinated in their gait – Isis looks like a Tennessee Walker horse with her high-stepping prance and Cade could double for a sleek panther with his more stealthy walk, deliberate steps - - throwing his back legs in a runners kick.
Cade is a solid gray Exotic Shorthair and Isis, his beautiful spotted sister is an Exotic as well but has a soft gray coat with peach spots. Both have HUGE round deep-golden eyes that always appear to be taking in everything in their home environment. Nature took away some of their physical abilities but She gave back heightened smell, touch and hearing. She also gave them a gentle nature, good hearts and a genuine need to love and be loved. Not a bad trade-off for these two!
Both Cade and Isis have been diagnosed as “Wobbler” kittens – they have Cerebellar Hypoplasia (please check this out on the internet!) but are not “severe” in their disease. For instance Cade drinks by licking the side of the bowl and tossing water down his throat…. just random odd little endearing quirks. They use the litter box with no problem but one with taller sides or an Extra-Large/deep box with a cover will help keep the floor clean.
When they want attention they will touch your face with their paws or go nose-to-nose in their version of a kiss. They act a little head-shy when you first meet them but let them get used to you in a well-frequented room and pretty soon their unsuspicious nature takes over. I started by petting their backs and stroking them and now they head-butt me for more touching. I get constant kisses and attention when I am on the computer and they have me all to themselves. They choose to sit on any available lap and seek my husband and I out for petting and tummy rubs. They play happily together, chase balls and toss toy mice and are in every playful way two kittens having the time of their lives!
These sweet-natured cats are not right for every home. They love to play with other cats but are wary of dogs. They don’t like “change” and consistent care and a quiet home will be best for them and for you. They are sensitive to loud noises and abrupt movement so children would not be good for these kittens. An established adult-only home will be required.
Their fee is negotiable as part of their adoption fees have been sponsored by a kind donor who believes special needs does not indicate odd or defective but the very opposite: that they are, indeed, SPECIAL and put here for a reason. They bring me joy. I know they will do the same for you.
